Today, I said goodbye to the theatre that I have so much love for.
I don't really want to leave, but it is the principal that has to be upheld.
We have a new director... and so I will say it mildly.... we have creative differences.
I am leaving them in better shape that when I came there.
I am leaving with my head held high and the kids know why .. I am leaving.
I can't teach the children to stand up for what they believe in...If , I , myself can not stand up for my belief... and carry it through.
I can not stay and have this man walk all over me.
I have worked hard for the theatre for the last 6 summers... I hadn't planned on quitting... but I think now is a good time....
I will miss the kids... but not the hassle... and humiliation of being yelled at and made to feel inferior.
Good bye children's theatre... I love you all.
The picture above is of the Wolf and little red riding hood.
Kegan , the wolf, made his own mask.. from laytex gel... form fitted to his face. and little Coryn.. plays Red... so very well..
I will miss these two , talented and energetic kids.
